Day One and counting…

Cats and Pineapples… really?  Well, whenever I am put on the spot to be “creative” my mind becomes a blank slate.  Literally.

It was that time in the process of creating my new blog site when I was prompted for the name of the blog.  I heard crickets… So I looked around the room and there on top of the tree was a pineapple and to my left was Higgins asleep on the couch.  Hence we get ‘Cats and Pineapples’.  That will have to suffice until I determine a more creative and appropriate blog name.

Now that the name is out of the way, I will attempt to put into words how I hope this blog evolves into my online photo journal.  I am nearing the age of retirement and while I am eagerly anticipating said retirement, I do worry about what will fill my life once my working obligations are behind me.  I have always harbored a deep desire to take photos – good photos that capture something I am feeling or seeing that fill me with wonder.  I realize that I can’t just wake up one morning and be such a photographer.  It’s a process, I know.  And I am more than willing to roll up my sleeves and get started.  Yes, it’s January 1 and frankly there’s no better day to begin than today!  There are still raspberries clinging to the branches in my little raised bed in the backyard.  Happy New Year and may your year be full of all sorts of deliciousness; some even in the form of raspberries!
